Statement of Faith

We believe in a God glorifying, Christ centered, Spirit empowered Gospel.

We believe that our aim in life and death is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever. God teaches us how to glorify Him in His Holy Word; the Bible. The Bible is given by the infallible inspiration of the Holy Spirit in order that we may certainly know what we are to believe concerning him and what duties He requires of us.

We believe that God is Spirit, infinite, eternal and incomparable in all that He is; one God but three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, our Creator, our Redeemer, our Sanctifier; in whose power and wisdom, righteousness, goodness and truth we may safely put our trust.

We believe that the heavens and the earth, and all that is in them, are the works of God’s hands; and all that He has made He directs and governs in all their actions; so that they fulfill the end for which they were created. We who trust in Him shall not be put to shame but may rest securely in the protection of His almighty love.

We believe that God created man after His own image, in knowledge, righteousness and holiness; because man was created in God’s image, every person, born and unborn, is precious in God’s sight and deserves the right to life, love and dignity.

We believe that God entered into a covenant of life with the first man Adam, upon the sole condition of the obedience that was His due. By willfully sinning against God, Adam fell into sin and misery. We believe that, being fallen in Adam, our first father, we are by nature children of wrath, under the condemnation of God and totally corrupted in every aspect of our being, prone to evil and liable to eternal death. We and creation with us cannot be delivered from this dreadful state except through the unmerited grace of God, our only means of salvation.

We believe that God has not left the world to perish in its sin, but out of the great love from which He has loved it, has from all eternity graciously chosen for Himself a multitude which no man can number, to deliver them out of their sin and misery, and through them to restore again, in this world and in history, His kingdom of righteousness.

We believe that God has redeemed His people unto Himself through Jesus Christ our Lord; who, though He was and ever continues to be the eternal Son of God, yet was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary and became a man. He was born under the law, that He might redeem them that are under the law. We believe that Jesus bore the penalty due our sins in His own body on the cross, and fulfilled in His own person the obedience we owe to the righteousness of God. Jesus has presented us to His Father as His purchased possession, to the praise of the glory of His grace forever; such that renouncing all merit of our own, we put all our trust entirely in the blood and righteousness of Jesus Christ our redeemer.

We believe that Jesus Christ our redeemer, who died for our offenses, was raised again for our justification and ascended into the heavens, where He sits at the right hand of the Father almighty, continually making intercession for His people and from there governs the whole world as head over all things for His church. We need fear no evil, we may surely know that nothing can remove us out of His hands or separate us from His love.

We believe that the redemption secured by the Lord Jesus Christ is effectually applied to all His people by the Holy Spirit who has come to dwell in our earthen vessel. The Holy Spirit unites us to Christ, renews us in the whole man after the image of God and enables us to more and more die unto sin and to live unto righteousness. The Holy Spirit is the agent by whom God’s people will achieve the stature of the fullness that belongs to Christ.

We believe the gifts of the Holy Spirit and the fruit of the Holy Spirit are available to all God’s people as part of the calling to be image bearers. The Holy Spirit is presently active in the Church giving a variety of spiritual gifts to redeemed men and women so that the body of Christ might be encouraged, comforted, edified and equipped for the work of service in the King’s mandate of restoration, the Holy Spirit is also active in the fallen world healing, delivering and restoring through the covenant community.

We believe that, having been pardoned and accepted for Christ’s sake, it is required of God’s people to walk in the Spirit fulfilling the obedience we owe to Christ our King; faithfully performing all the duties laid upon us by God’s Word, the Bible. The Bible is our only rule of faith and practice. We are committed to historic reformed Creeds, Confessions and Catechisms as expressed in the Apostles Creed, The Nicene Creed, The Athanasian Creed, The Westminster Confession of Faith, The Belgic Confession and The Heidelberg Catechism in relation to both faith and practice. Christ Jesus, our leader, who has died for us, granted to us His Holy Spirit, He is our model and our perfect example that we might do the good works which God has prepared beforehand for us to walk in, to His glory.

We believe that God has established His Church in the world and appointed in it Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors, Elders and Teachers as spiritual authorities for the building up of the body of Christ. Through the ministry of the Word, Prayer, Church Discipline, and the Holy ordinances of water baptism and the Lord’s Supper, the riches of His grace in the Gospel may be known to the world and, by the blessing of Christ and the working of His spirit in them that by faith receive them, the benefits of redemption may be communicated to His people. We believe the duty of every believer who is a member of Christ’s body is to fix their eyes on Jesus, seek first the Kingdom of God and its permeation into all aspects of life on earth, experience and practice the covenant, and serve the King’s mandate of restoration until all of Christ’s enemies are made a footstool for His feet. The responsibilities of the body of Christ can be fulfilled by attending to the means of Grace with diligence, preparation, and prayer, so that through them Christians may be instructed and strengthened in faith to carry this gospel and convey these means of grace to the whole world.

We believe that the goal of the ministry of the Church is to present every person complete in Christ. Such that those who bear Christ’s image are characterized by thinking biblically, speaking boldly and leading responsible lives according to the scriptures

We believe that Jesus Christ will come again to earth in bodily form to defeat the last enemy of Christ and His Church; death. The return of Jesus Christ will occur after the Church has defeated all of Christ’s enemies and has exercised Christ’s dominion on earth as it is in heaven, by making disciples of all the nations and teaching them all that which we have observed of the Christ. At the return of Jesus Christ and the defeat of the final enemy, death, Christ will judge the world in righteousness and assign to each one his eternal reward; eternal life for those who have been reckoned righteous and eternal punishment for all others. When Christ returns in majesty, the redeemed shall be raised in glory and made perfectly blessed in the full enjoyment of the new heavens and the new earth to all eternity.
